Registration Form Winter 2021. Whaler Media is designed to prepare students for post-secondary education in media arts. JOURNALISM 101, will be an introduction to the concepts and techniques used in media journalism. This course offers hands-on learning design thinking, information gathering, organization, broadcast, and online media. Students will create informative PSA’s touching on subjects that teens deal with every day.

Our media arts educational program, Whaler Media and introducing Journalism 101

Thanks to funding by the Nantucket Golf Club Foundation, A.S.A.P Nantucket and the Nantucket Cultural Council, this program is free to students. Also, special thanks to our partnership with the Boys & Girls Club. When you register, you will be asked for billing information at the end. This information is needed to submit your registration. Please fill in your mailing address in the billing section, you will not be billed, this is only a formality.

Whaler Media and Journalism 101 is designed to prepare students for post-secondary education in media arts. Students are responsible for consistent attendance and participation in class projects to show skill development. Successful show of work and understanding, students will receive a certificate of completion that is considered step one to advance in the media arts education class that NCTV offers.

NCTV designed Whaler Media to empower Nantucket High School students to share their voices on television, from Channel 18 to the worldwide web. The class takes advantage of NCTV’s multimedia center resources so each student can learn by doing. The teachers stress teamwork to produce a friendly, creative, and exciting atmosphere for everyone. Here are your first steps in learning the media arts:
